All levels are based on the USGS Youghiogheny Gauge at Ohiopyle.
Less than 1.6'
Duckies are recommended on the Middle Yough.
1.6' to 2.2'
Normal Summer Flows for an average precipitation year.
2.2' - 2.9'
Lower Yough becomes more aggressive.
3.0' and higher *
Duckies are not allowed on the Lower Yough.
4.0' and higher *
Rentals are not allowed on Lower Yough. All guided tours must have a guide in the raft on the Lower Yough. No Duckies allowed on Middle Yough.
6.0' and higher *
Rentals are cut off on the Middle Yough. All Middle Yough must be Fully Guided.
8.0' and higher *
The Lower Yough becomes a true Class IV "big-water" river. All commercial activity is cut off on the Middle Yough.
10.0' and higher *
All commercial activity is cut-off on the Lower Yough.
