Lower Yough Fully Guided whitewater rafting trips are perfect for inexperienced rafters,
minors and timid folks looking for adventure. Many experienced
rafters prefer having a guide in the boat too. Your fun
loving OTP guide teaches you paddle techniques, calls out
the strokes and steers the raft. The guides spread out a
deli style lunch and are there to share their knowledge
and love of the river. You also learn a little about the
natural history and local stories of the area.
This is one of our most popular services for Ohiopyle Rafting. Designed for those people who want maximum adventure without maximum risk. Our guide training exceeds industry standards as well as Pennsylvania state requirements. To be a guide with us you have to pass our rigorous training requirements, have current first aid and CPR certifications as well as being a friendly, courteous and competent person. We take pride in having an outstanding guide staff. A guide in
your boat provides more control, you bump fewer rocks,
and you hit the waves and holes better.
River difficulty is Class
III and IV. The trip takes 3-5 hours (depending on water
levels). We recommend that if you are a beginner rafter,
under 18, or timid, that you take this fully guided trip.
Even experienced rafters appreciate a guides skill and
boat handling abilities.
